The 372 is certainly not in that category; it looks great in photos and on the wrist it really is better. 47mm certainly makes for a very large watch, but I believe small to average wrist sizes can pull it off. If any of you guys ever handled or even owned both watches (372 & 663), I would like to hear your opinion(s) about those 2 (aside from price difference and resale value) and which one would you pick if this watch would be your one and only PAM.

The 372 is considered by many Paneristi to be "THE Panerai", but I think that quotient has just changed with the advent of the PAM 587. The PAM 587 makes the 372 look almost contrived, whereas the 587 looks much more balanced and organic, and more complete in a less-is-more kind of way.
An obvious question, is why doesn't Panerai make a watch identical in every way to the original 6152-1? Who knows, maybe one day, the will? My best guess is that Panerai tried to make the PAM 372 more comfortable and more universally appealing.
