Each with 28-20/220 mechanical lever movement, 29 jewels, applied Arabic and dagger numerals, two subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 10-day power reserve, rectangular case, .The rectangular caliber 28-20/220 fitted with the famous Gyromax balance wheel, patented by Patek Philippe in 1949. This 28 x 20 mm movement (height 5.05 mm) comprises 175 parts which produce 240 hours of power reserve.
Out of the whole collection, only 450 watches featured a white gold case with blue dial as the one presented today does, making this an extremely rare timepiece. The watch also features a uniquely shaped case and an innovative movement with a 10-day power reserve.
The reference 5100 was made to commemorate the turn of the century in 2000. Given the important occasion, they brought out the first 10 day power reserve movement ever created by any manufacturer, ever, in a wristwatch. Further, Patek used this unique case shape, which was inspired by the manta ray.
