I’m looking at purchasing a second Panerai and have decided on the PAM720. My only disappointment is that it comes with plexiglass and not sapphire crystal. I understand that the 720 comes with a spare. Can anyone confirm if this spare is also plexiglass? And is it possible to have a sapphire crystal fitted later? Thanks.
The PAM00372 has a plexiglass crystal, this first scared me off and after talking to other Paneristi who have their PAM00372 for a long time, I was assured, plexiglass is not a scary thing, it rather complements the vintage heritage of the watch. I was very skeptical before getting my first PAM with a Plexi dial but now I must say I love it. Don't worry about scratches and stuff, get some Polywatch and scatches can easily be buffed out.
