I currently have: omega seamaster 2254.50 omega speedmaster mark iv automatic (1974) omega speedmaster mark ii (2015) I'm seriously looking at adding a new watch to my collection. I'm thinking of a rolex submariner, but it looks almost. Yeah, even though it's not in the typical list of top 10 rolex it is a higher value item than the SMPc If you have outgrown rolex then for sure make the jump. The seamaster is a great and reliable watch. Pitty you can't do both. The SMPc is a more original and modern design. Younger in character to a certain extent.

When properly thrown with the HE valve pointing outward, the Omega will leave a nasty dent in the victim’s forehead with a prominent “HE” impression. Much more effective than the serrated bezel on the Submariner. Advantage: Seamaster. As a recent Seamaster owner not sure I'm qualified to answer this, but IIRC the early Seamaster 300 was considered a rival to the Submariner and was sold and commissioned as such, so there's a historical precedent to the comparison, even if Rolex can be said to have surged ahead at the time and maintained that advantage for a long time .

You may be pleasantly surprised to hear that they are very cheap and fit all the Omegas I have tried perfectly. They don't fit the Exp-II as well and curved spring bars are needed to make it fit well. As such I will probably swap the Rolex onto either a brown leather or back onto the original bracelet at some point soon. Mar 26, 2015. Seeing all of the great SM 300s in the post below got me to thinking about comparing the Omega with a vintage Rolex Submariner. Just anecdotally, it seems like there are a lot more Submariners on the market on a regular basis (particularly 5513s but also 1680s and to a lesser degree 5512s and earlier Submariners). Against Omega: 70% brand recognition; fair resale value; ridiculous number of limited editions (but getting better), heritage models and not so great commercial tie-ins (eg, some tacky Bond watches); second fiddle reputation. My pick: Omega all day, every day, but I do like the Rolex Submariner. Edited: Dec 7, 2022.
